Visit Tokyo's oldest temple, Senso-ji, easily accessible via the Red Course. Discover huge lanterns, incense smoke, and street food.

One of the most popular stops on the Red Course is Asakusa, home to Tokyo's oldest and most significant Buddhist temple, Senso-ji. This district preserves the vibe of an older Tokyo (Shitamachi), distinct from the glass towers of Shinjuku.
The bus drops you a short walk from the iconic "Thunder Gate" (Kaminarimon). The massive red lantern hanging here is the symbol of Asakusa. Photo Op: Stand slightly to the side to avoid the main throng of tourists for a selfie.
Between the gate and the main hall lies Nakamise-dori.
Approaching the main hall, you'll be enveloped in the scent of incense.
If you have time before the next bus:
The Hop-On Hop-Off stop is usually located near the main intersection or the Tobu Asakusa station. Look for the distinct red bus stop sign.
